About Queen of Cars

A registered trademark, held for a decade · Solihull to Sydney

Queen of Cars isn't a brand that appeared last week. The name has been a registered trademark for ten years - first held in 2016, just renewed for another decade - long before the crown ever went on a website. This has been coming for a while.

It's run by Samantha - born in Solihull, the town where they build Land Rovers, now writing from Sydney, where the sun actually shines on a Sunday morning meet.

Solihull, as the court remembers it - artwork, not a photograph, because some memories deserve better paint.

She grew up in the old heartland of British motoring, with Land Rover on the doorstep and the whole Midlands humming with the business of building cars. A childhood visit to the great engineering factory at Gaydon sealed it: the eerie foam-lined sound-insulation room where engineers test exactly how a car should sound, the test track where the machines are driven in anger, and the featherweight bodies moulded in fibreglass. Two cars marked her for life - Aston Martin, the impossible standard, and the Mini, proof that genius need not be expensive. Aspiration and cleverness, in equal measure - the whole philosophy of this place. Read the full story →

Gravel drive, gold wheels, and a Range Rover keeping watch - the doorstep we grew up on, painted from memory.

Queen of Cars is a movement, not a demographic. It's for anyone who loves cars - classics, sports cars, the lot - and drives with real attitude. For the ones who know exactly what they're looking at when the bonnet goes up, and for the ones who'd like to - because nobody is born knowing what a pink slip is, and nobody should be made to feel small for asking.

The name means what you think it means, in every sense - and “Queen” was never about gender. It's an energy: confident, sharp, unwilling to settle. Founded by a woman, built with LGBTQ+ warmth at its core, and open to every Queen who claims the crown - women, men, everyone in between and beyond. Excellence is the only entry requirement.
