Porsche Cayman GT4: the yellow one that means it
Racing Yellow, a fixed wing, a naturally aspirated flat-six and a proper manual. Porsche's most focused Cayman, and it very nearly takes the full five.

Some cars turn up. This one had clearly booked the room in advance. I found her at my favourite Sydney exotics place in Racing Yellow, that big fixed wing held up like a flag, and even with red leather winking from the car next door, she was the one my eye kept going back to. Yellow's a brave colour. It says you've got nothing to hide, and the GT4 genuinely hasn't.
The heart of it
Behind the seats is the reason grown adults go quiet: a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six, the old-school kind where the throttle is a volume knob and the redline is an invitation, not a warning. No turbo, no fake noise, just revs stacked on revs until it howls. Get the manual and you get three pedals and a shift so good it should carry a warning label.
The engine's in the middle, so she's beautifully balanced, and the steering is still the one I judge everything else by, honest and chatty. And she'll still do the coffee run and the airport run without a word of complaint. A thoroughbred with drawing-room manners.
The verdict
Serious money, yes, but every cent of it buys real motorsport engineering, which is the best kind of expensive. Four crowns from me, and the fifth isn't a criticism, it's a confession: you can't fully judge a car this committed from a showroom and a quick road loop. That one needs a track and a free Saturday, both of which I'm working on. She can wait. Cars like this always know their moment is coming.
